Raix has always been fascinated with cooking. As a toddler I found it odd that he wants to play with her sisters’ old kitchen playset. He pretends to be a chef in a restaurant and loves to do cut and cook. I remember when he was 4 years old, I allowed him to help me bake his dad’s birthday cake. I can’t forget how happy he was especially when mixing the ingredients.
Last May 3, 2019, we were so happy to be part of the Kid’s Kitchen Camp held at the 28th floor Kitchen Studio of the Makati Diamond Residences. This was organized by the San Miguel Pure Foods (SMPF) Culinary Center in collaboration with Makati Diamond Residences.
On its 24″ year, the annual activity of SMPF Culinary Center aims to instill love and appreciation for food and cooking while introducing various SMPF products that can help in preparation ease and enhance skills of young budding cooking enthusiasts. “If kids are much more involved in food preparation, then they truly get encouraged to eat more, which promote: good nutrition, plus they learn cooking early, a very important life skill” says Llena Tan-Arcenas, the Culinary Services Manager of San Miguel Pure Foods.
This year, our little chefs were taught how to prepare 5 scrumptious yet kid-friendly recipes.
The fun and talented chefs of SMPF Culinary Center under the supervision of Pamela ‘chef Pam‘ Obieta together with MDR chefs conducted the event.
Thank you so much to San Miguel Pure Foods Culinary Center for this wonderful cooking experience. My son can’t wait to try all the receipes at home.
Last November 30, 2018, the lakwatsera tandem of Mommy V & Raix went to Ayala Malls Solenad Nuvali, to witness and be part of Del Monte’s early Christmas treat.
Del Monte Spaghetti Sauces treated families to an excitingly different spaghetti experience by sampling all five of their delicious spaghetti sauce flavors in their Del Monte “Spag Sarap Squad Headquarters” – Carbonara, Italian, Sweet, Filipino, and their newest flavor, Creamy and Cheesy.
These flavors came to life through the Del Monte Spag Sarap Squad heroes whose mission is to save the day with delicious spaghetti. The squad – Carlo Carbonara, Taliana, Sweetie, Ino Filipino and Chessy, interacted with the audience and hosted fun games to help them experience the variety of delicious flavors – Sweet Style, made with 100% naturally sweet California tomatoes is everyone’s yummy childhood favorite; Filipino Style is a levelled up sweet sauce because it’s also meaty and cheesy; Italian Style is a tomato-ey sauce with basil, oregano and parmesan cheese for that authentic Italian taste; Carbonara, an up & coming comfort food favorite for resto-going yuppies as its made of real cream and milk; and lastly, Creamy and Cheesy – an “extra fun” sauce because of the extra cream and cheese in it!
There were also Instagram-worthy displays and an Augmented Reality photo booth that would allow anyone to instantly become a member of the Del Monte Spag Sarap Squad. To top that, the squad saved the day by giving out a whopping 5 spaghetti samples for each attendee so that they can try all the delicious flavors of Del Monte Spaghetti Sauce and discover a new favorite!
Spaghetti definitely became more exciting with the different Spaghetti possibilities that anyone can create for family and friends with the 5 delicious flavors that Del Monte Spaghetti Sauce has! For delicious Spaghetti Sauce recipes, visit www.lifegetsbetter.ph !
All five Del Monte Spaghetti Sauce flavors are sold in leading supermarkets and groceries nationwide.

Abbott Introduces PediaSure ® Plus #OhMyGrowth (OMG) Park to Provide Educational Experience on Children’s Growth and Development The PediaSure Plus #OhMyGrowth Park roadshow launches, running from November to December, starting with Festival Mall, Alabang
Parents always want the best for their children and ensuring their growth and development is no exception. For this reason, parents like to know if their children are growing at the right height and want to make sure that they are eating the best foods to stay active and healthy as they grow.
As for me, with my 2 girls, I really never had worries if they are of right height and weight during their formative years. I was quite contented with how tall they are & their body weight. But with my youngest, it seems that I wanted to give him everything just to make sure he grows up tall and of right weight. Lucky for me, he is growing up tall and is active and healthy.
Some of those we just met always asks what age he is, when I answer back, they’d be surprised and the frequent response is, “He’s big for his age.” I’ve seen kids his age kind of short for their age and is wondering why? Was it because of their parents’ hormones? Or they lack enough sleeping hours? Or maybe it’s with their milk?
To help encourage parents to properly measure their children in order to recognize signs of nutritional inadequacy and keep their growth on track, Abbott is launching the PediaSure Plus #OhMyGrowth (OMG) Park across a number of locations in the Philippines. The park offers a fun and interactive experience for parents and children over three years old. Featuring checkpoints for height, weight and immunity, the park is designed to educate parents on their children’s nutrition and growth development, while letting the kids enjoy fun-filled activities. Currently in Festival Mall, Alabang from Nov. 17-18, 2018, the park is also scheduled to be at: SM City Pampanga on Dec. 8-9 and SM Southmall, Las Piñas on Dec. 15-16.

Complete and balanced nutrition is important for a child’s growth
The first five years is a critical window in a child’s life for bone growth, with 60 percent of a child’s adult height attributed to growth at this stage. However, this period is also the time when a child is most likely to encounter barriers to growth such as poor nutrition, feeding difficulties or frequent illnesses. It is important to ensure that a child is getting a complete and balanced nutrition as they grow and that appropriate nutrition is introduced in time so that the child can stay on track in achieving his full growth potential.
An oral nutritional supplement like PediaSure Plus can help provide the proper nutrition a child needs by helping to fill nutritional gaps. PediaSure Plus is clinically proven, with 37 growth nutrients and triple protein complex, to support muscle and bone growth. A clinical study among Filipino children showed that drinking two servings of PediaSure Plus with
three balanced meals everyday resulted in visible growth within eight weeks — and helped to improve appetite, weight and height, reduced sick days, and sustained proportional growth.
Dr. Jose Rodolfo Dimaano Jr. – medical director at Abbott explains: “To support their overall growth and development, children require complete and balanced nutrition. PediaSure Plus provides essential macronutrients and micronutrients needed by a child to stay healthy and well-nourished. Its consistent use helps children to meet their dietary requirements of key
nutrients for growth. This is especially important because many Filipinos are deficient in nutrients such as calcium, iron, vitamin A and C – all needed to support the optimal growth of children.”
At the launch event, celebrity mom Melissa Ricks – mother to three-year-old Keira, spoke about the importance of ensuring optimum nutrition with PediaSure Plus: “It was hard to make sure Keira was getting all the nutrition she needs when she was growing up because of her food preferences. But she loves the taste of PediaSure Plus – especially the chocolate one!
With her having that twice a day, I can rest assured that she’s getting the proper nutrition she needs for her health and growth development – boosting her height, weight and immunity. It really helps me to make sure she is eating right, even on the busy days.”
If you mommies need to learn more about PediaSure you may check my blog soon. 🙂
Last August 2016, our family get to experience for the very first time the Toy Kingdom Toy Expo. It was held at SMX, SM Mall of Asia. It ran for 3 consecutive days. The expo featured NEW and amazing toys that the kids will definitely LOVE!
We were very lucky to have the privilege of coming in early on the first day and get to see the toys first. 🙂 Raix and I went in together with our very dear friends Mommy Em of touringkitty.com and Ate Aria! 🙂
As soon as we entered SMX, Raix and Aria couldn’t wait and hurriedly went straight inside the area where the toys are.Our first photo op was with Raix’ ultimate fave (and mine too! 😉 ), TMNT Leader, Leonardo!
We were greeted by this awesome set up from the halfshell heroes.
Next display that caught our attention was Lego’s amazing exhibit! You can even go in the middle to have a better view of it!
Of course they set up a play area for the kids.
Kids are having a hard time to decide where to go first, they keep running around and never settles down in just one place! 🙂 Plus! There are character appearances almost every hour! The stage appearances are good because parents get to rest awhile, and have a seat.
Of course! Cars! Cars! & more cars!!! At the Hot Wheels Make It Epic Booth! Dozens of basic cars to choose from! They even featured this cooooollll car!
Another hit with the kids, boys and girls alike was the booth of NERF! They allowed kids to try and check out their new products!
Of course, they showcased toys that are proudly Filipino made. Cutie fruits and veggies.
What’s cute is that you can have your pictures printed for FREE when you post your pictures in Instagram by joining the hashtag party.
Acts of Kindness Hosts Art Exhibit Benefiting Smile Train, the World’s Leading Cleft Charity
On July 19, Acts of Kindness and Solaire Resorts and Casino unveiled, “A Celebration of Smiles: Creating smiles and second chances at life through art,” an art exhibit benefiting Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft charity. The exhibit is being held at Solaire’s The Shoppes Artway.
The exhibit features artwork by local and international artists, and some of Smile Train’s former cleft patients. The artwork will be available for sale until September 2 and will help raise funds and awareness for children with clefts in the Philippines.
“We are grateful that Acts of Kindness is hosting this art exhibit to help raise awareness for Smile Train and our local programs here in the Philippines. Through this initiative, not only is Acts of Kindness able to showcase local and international talent, they are also able to help create a brighter future for children born with clefts,” said Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano, Area Director for Smile Train in Southeast Asia.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Smile Train to help fund various local programs to provide free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care for Filipinos.
The art exhibit showcases pieces from Roberto Sanchez, a DJ and entrepreneur by trade, but creatively a self-taught artist. Sanchez works are primarily expressionistic, dramatic portraits replete with distorted, thick lines and incongruous forming gnarly surfaces of painted faces.
This artist duly approaches his paintings with a process that aims to capture the essence of the portrait subjects. While he technically addresses physicality and form, he is keenly interested to understand and capture in his canvas real presences from his subjects.
He takes particular cue with the eyes which for him spells and define the character of the subjects. And even if the frames are still unfinished, they already evoke such entrancing stillness, energies, and completeness. They have the ability to charm and confuse.
Sanchez finds affirmation when his painted subjects find themselves in his works as they connect with their painted likeness in canvas.
Jon Ray Fernandez is an airline professional turned mixed media artist. A self-taught visual artist, Fernandez started off with zero art education since it never occurred to him that art could possibly be a career.
Originally from Bacolod City, he left the country to travel the world. After being based in London and the Middle East for a number of years, he came back to the Philippines in 2015 with plans to continue his aviation career. Eventually, he stumbled upon the world of art and there found his true calling.
As a visual artist, his main objective is to bring beauty and fun back into local art. He started posting his works on social media, gaining a fan base around the globe. With Pedro Almodovar, muse Rosie De Palma, and actress Emmanuele Beart admiring his works, this led to patrons buying his pieces. Camy Cabral, a full-time artist with a background in design and advertising; and Albrecht Behmel, an award-winning artist and best-selling writer whose works have been shown in Paris, Beijing, New York, Moscow and London. Despite coming from different backgrounds with different styles of artwork, these artists came together to offer their pieces all for a good cause.
Apart from the seasoned artists, some of the artwork is from Smile Train’s former cleft patients including: Julia Robert Capili, Angel Ibo, Pearl Angeli Miranda, Jervy Hobo and Nickson Cabote. Having interacted with the guests, these individuals have shown how far they’ve come since their initial cleft surgery.
“We hope that we can continue to raise awareness for children with clefts in the Philippines and all over the world through these small acts of kindness,” says Flaviano. “We want to continue to spread smiles and encourage others to do the same.”

This 2018, Father’s Day was extra special. Our much awaited Disney Pixar movie is finally showing in cinemas! 🙂
Yes! Our family is a BIG FAN of The Incredibles Movie. It was in 2014 when it was released by Disney Pixar Movies. From then on we kept on waiting for it’s part 2.
We were all excited when finally it is here. The Incredibles Movie II is showing here in the Philippines and on Fathers’ Day! Woohoo!!! Guess daddy will treat us on his special day. 😉
And to make it extra exciting, my son and I got an exclusive invite to The Incredibles 2 Media Launch. It was held at S’Maison at Conrad Manila. Upon our arrival at the mall we were greeted by this large logo of The Incredibles.
While inside are fun activities for the kids. You can collect balloons in the Violet Force Field Booth. Test your speed in Dash’s Timed Obstacle. Feel the rush, jump and fly at Elastigirl’s Trampoline Area and show off your creativity with Mr. Incredible’s logo builder by Nutri-Asia’s Papa Catsup.
Not only that. Raix and I got the chance to watch it’s premiere. Call it luck, back-to-back. 🙂 It’s premiere was at SM Aura, IMAX Theater at Bonifacio Global City. The day of the premiere was a rainy one, in fact there was a storm. But it didn’t stop us from watching it. I decided to grab the opportunity to accept the invitation to join the premiere even if we planned to watch it together with our fam, because being invited to a Disney Pixar Movie premiere was totally wicked. Haha.
As expected it was worth the 14 years of wait. So my son and I went home and kept the excitement to ourselves so as not to spoil his sisters and daddy. We were very silent about it for about 5 days. Imagine how we did that? Especially with my very “madaldal” son. He can actually talk non-stop while watching a full movie. 😀
Then came Father’s Day. Everybody’s excited! My youngest sister even tagged along. The greatest challenge for Raix was to keep quiet while inside the cinema and not to mention what would happen next. Hahaha. And would you believe that for the first time he was not a spoiler. 😀 It was one unforgettable Fathers’ Day for our family. We can’t wait for part 3.
Moms and dads out there, still looking for a summer activity for your kid? How about Ballet and Hip Hop Class? Bet?

Raix was very excited once I told him about the hip-hop class. He loves dancing and his favorite moves are from Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and ‘Beat It’. At first, he was really shy to show his moves but eventually got the hang of it. 🙂 He may not still get the ‘angst’ of hip-hop dancing but still, Raix is a great dancer.
As a “stage mom” I don’t just watch my son but also the instructor. I was very impressed actually, Teacher Arlene started their class with a warm-up and slowly introduced a few steps after. What really surprised me is that before ending the session kids also cooled down. I danced during my school days but never taught about that. Great job Dance Plus!

It’s summer once again! Kids are excited to go out and play while moms and dads think of ways on how to make summer fun and educational at the same time. Nothing to worry, because McDonald’s offers both!
Luckily for us, Raix got invited to be part of the coolest team this Summer – McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop. It was a one day activity where they were able to experience unique exciting activities.
This annual summer program is now on it’s 26th year. It is for kids 6-12 years old. Here our kids will experience all the fun things that make up McDonald’s through play-based activities, allowing them to learn good values, build confidence and discover new talents, all in the company of new friends!
The Kiddie Crew Workshop will teach our kids what it is like to be working at McDonald’s. My son Raix had so much fun making his own cheeseburger and greeting customers at the drive-thru and front counter as he gets their orders.
Aside from experiencing work done at McDonald’s, children will also get the opportunity to express their talent in arts and dancing.
By being part of the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew, Raix learned new skills, gained new friends and experienced a lot of learning and FUN! So what are you waiting for? Enroll your kids in the nearest McDonald’s store and give them an unforgettable summer experience!
Here is the list of activities you kids will be doing during this workshop.
Are you worried that you cannot join this workshop because of the 5-weekday schedule? Good news! This year McDonald’s offering a 2-day Weekend Workshop.
What does your child do well? As parents, we know that our children already have the skills one sort or other. Some kids will have a knack for singing, while others will excel in painting.
Letting them explore on their own is essential to discover and nurture their true gifts. For instance, motivating kids to participate in various activities is a good opportunity to discover their interests. Aside from stimulating their creativity, doing this will also help push children to explore their full potential.
While they are young, allowing your kids to realize their talents is helpful in honing their skills. And as parents, we can be the number one support that they need.
Last February 24, Raix and I were very fortunate to be invited to Promil’s iShine Talent Camp Launch for this year. Personally, this is something I look forward to for Raix back when he was still a baby. I recall that I imagine him joining the talent camp, singing and dancing with the other kids. So, I wouldn’t miss this opportunity!
As we got to the venue we got more excited as we are greeted by these cool photo op backdrops.
The Promil 4 iShine Talent Camp 6 launch was hosted by the Multimedia Star Ms. Toni Gonzaga. Mommies and daddies are taught on what Promil has to offer our little ones by doctors and food scientist & nutritionist.
“We’re so excited to finally open the most exciting PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 yet, where we will witness, once again, the awesome talents of the young participants,” Villegas added. “This year, we are also bringing back our camp masters on board, who will help discover, nurture, and inspire their talents so that they will shine brightly.”
This season, the PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 showcases four different workshops namely, Music, Dance, Arts, and Engineering. Maestro Ryan Cayabyab returns as the camp master who will lead the Music Workshop, Teacher Georcelle Sy, of the G-Force Dance School for the Dance Workshop, Teacher Robert Alejandro and his team from Papemelroti for the Art Workshop, and a new set of workshops focused on Engineering to be led by Teacher Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids.
We were also amazed by the Promil iShine Talent Camp graduate’s presentation. They sang, danced and one of them played the drums! These kids are so talented! 🙂
The best part of the event was when the kids got the chance to experience what is in store for them this year at the Promil iShine Talent Camp. My son Raix sure had fun! 😀 We will share to you his experience through his YouTube Channel – Raix at Play.
The PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 will run from April 2 to May 3, 2018. It will be conducted in different locations in Metro Manila and will be concluded through a recital on May 11, 2018where the participants of all four workshops will perform.
The PROMIL Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 will also visit key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao via road shows to allow children outside Metro Manila to experience the thrill of the workshops.
PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 is now accepting enrollees for the summer activity. To enroll, parents should purchase any of the participating PROMIL Gold® Four or PROMIL® Four variants, which has a corresponding discount to any of the kid’s chosen talent workshop. The pre-registration, on the other hand, will be done online through PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 website.
Who knows your child may be the next Vincent Van Gogh, Alexander Graham Bell, Elvis Presley or Madonna.

My little boy, Raix is a LEGO lover. His fondness to it is just overwhelming. As young as 3 years old, he can build small lego sets by following the manual. Honestly, he is even better than me! Haha. When he knew that we got an invitation to a LEGO Friends event he got so excited! 🙂
The LEGO Friends event was held last June 30 at the Ayala Malls the 30th. The event was also a launch of the weekend LEGO Friends Weekend Activity.
LEGO Friends LEGO Friends is a product range of the Lego construction toy designed primarily for girls. Introduced in 2012, the theme introduced the “mini-doll” figures, which are about the same size as the traditional minifigures but are more detailed and realistic. The sets include pieces in pink and purple color schemes and depict scenes from suburban life set in the fictional town of Heartlake City. In the initial wave of sets, the larger sets include bricks that can build a veterinary clinic, a malt-style café, a beauty salon and a suburban house; smaller sets included a “cool convertible,” a design studio, an inventor’s workshop and a swimming pool.
Meet the LEGO Friends Characters

The most exciting part during the LEGO Friends event launch was the games. One of which is the Lego Friends Speed Building Competition.
I asked Raix what he want to build. He said he wanted to make a sword like from Star Wars. Here is his light saber. 😀
He had an awesome time building this. Imagine building something with just 60 blocks! It was like show-and-tell, kids are asked what they built. I was so proud of Raix because he didn’t get shy when he was asked about his entry. 🙂
We were not able to win Major Prizes from the two games but we got lucky and was picked during the raffle! Yey!!!
Dads and moms if you are planning on a family activity this weekend this LEGO Friends Weekend Activity will surely be a big hit to your kids. Also a fun way to bond with them. 🙂 Head on over to Ayala Malls the 30th to win awesome LEGO items. Registration starts 11AM. I assure you that your family will have “blocks and blocks” of FUN!!!
