Be a STAR in your own music video with Alden Richards!

Now anyone can become a music video star with Pambansang Bae Alden Richards using their smartphones – and that includes you!
Safeguard Philippines invites you to shoot and direct your own “I Wash It That Way” music video with Fuse It – a free augmented reality and customizable video app for smartphones. The app enables mobile users to be a star in their own music video together with the virtual version of celebrity actor Alden Richards.
You can sing along, lip sync and dance side-by-side with your idol to the tune of “I Wash It That Way,” a creative spin of a Backstreet Boys hit, which mixes pop music with information to educate the public about the threat of #HANGINfection or airborne germs that may cause skin reactions and respiratory sickness.
A word play on hangin, which means air in Filipino, and infection, #HANGINfection refers to airborne germs that may cause skin reactions and respiratory sickness. These may not be visible with the naked eye, but #HANGINfection is all around. Since it also comes from living organisms, these tiny airborne particles are most prevalent in areas with many people and animals, including damp locations!
Notable personalities like Camille Prats, Danica Sotto-Pingris, Rodjun Cruz, Donnalyn Bartolome, Pauleen Luna, Derrick Monasterio, and Richard Juan joined the #HANGININfection movement and uploaded their own versions of the music video on their social media accounts. Also, check the I Wash It That Way music videos of teen dancer Ella Cruz, and star athletes, Alyssa Valdez, Melissa Gohing, Dennise Lazaro, and Rachel Daquis as they showcase their inner 90s swag!

Download Fuse It on the App Store or Google Play Store and create your own I Wash It That Way music video with Alden Richards today!
Together, let’s continue spreading awareness about #HANGINfection by watching and sharing the music video on Safeguard’s Facebook and YouTube.

Moms and dads out there, still looking for a summer activity for your kid? How about Ballet and Hip Hop Class? Bet?
Last April 10, Araneta Center together with Dance Plus Philippines launched their Summer Dance Program – Summer Rhythm. These workshops will be held every Tuesday and Friday from April 10 – May 18, for kids 4-15 years old. Sessions are held at the Ali Mall Activity Area their space is great for the workshop because of the spacious area where kids can easily move and groove.
1
Classes are facilitated by the dance instructors from Dance Plus. Dance Plus, also known as ‘your studio without walls’ partners with schools, malls, and condominiums to share the gift of dance to as many children as possible. Leaving children priceless memories this summer.
2
Raix was very excited once I told him about the hip-hop class. He loves dancing and his favorite moves are from Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and ‘Beat It’. At first, he was really shy to show his moves but eventually got the hang of it. 🙂 He may not still get the ‘angst’ of hip-hop dancing but still, Raix is a great dancer.
3
As a “stage mom” I don’t just watch my son but also the instructor. I was very impressed actually, Teacher Arlene started their class with a warm-up and slowly introduced a few steps after. What really surprised me is that before ending the session kids also cooled down. I danced during my school days but never taught about that. Great job Dance Plus!

Thank you Teacher Arlene!

Thank you so much to Mommy Bloggers Philippines and Araneta Center for the wonderful opportunity.

Raix at the McDonald's Kiddie Crew 2018 Media Launch

It’s summer once again! Kids are excited to go out and play while moms and dads think of ways on how to make summer fun and educational at the same time. Nothing to worry, because McDonald’s offers both!

Luckily for us, Raix got invited to be part of the coolest team this Summer – McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop. It was a one day activity where they were able to experience unique exciting activities.

This annual summer program is now on it’s 26th year. It is for kids 6-12 years old. Here our kids will experience all the fun things that make up McDonald’s through play-based activities, allowing them to learn good values, build confidence and discover new talents, all in the company of new friends!

The Kiddie Crew Workshop will teach our kids what it is like to be working at McDonald’s. My son Raix had so much fun making his own cheeseburger and greeting customers at the drive-thru and front counter as he gets their orders.

His very own cheeseburger. Yummy!

His first time to experience working in the drive-thru area.

Aside from experiencing work done at McDonald’s, children will also get the opportunity to express their talent in arts and dancing.

His very own Happy Meal Box.

By being part of the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew, Raix learned new skills, gained new friends and experienced a lot of learning and FUN! So what are you waiting for? Enroll your kids in the nearest McDonald’s store and give them an unforgettable summer experience!

Raix and his new found friends loves McDo! 🙂

PROMIL Four i-Shine Talent Camp 6: Discovering your child’s potential through fun, learning activities

What does your child do well? As parents, we know that our children already have the skills one sort or other. Some kids will have a knack for singing, while others will excel in painting.
Letting them explore on their own is essential to discover and nurture their true gifts. For instance, motivating kids to participate in various activities is a good opportunity to discover their interests. Aside from stimulating their creativity, doing this will also help push children to explore their full potential.
While they are young, allowing your kids to realize their talents is helpful in honing their skills. And as parents, we can be the number one support that they need.
Last February 24, Raix and I were very fortunate to be invited to Promil’s iShine Talent Camp Launch for this year. Personally, this is something I look forward to for Raix back when he was still a baby. I recall that I imagine him joining the talent camp, singing and dancing with the other kids. So, I wouldn’t miss this opportunity!
As we got to the venue we got more excited as we are greeted by these cool photo op backdrops.

Alden Richards spreads the love (not the germs) through a new song

Alden Richards spreads the love (not the germs) through a new song
Safeguard and the Pambansang Bae team up to remind Filipino to wash their hands

In this year’s Global Handwashing Day celebration, Safeguard has partnered with one of the most prominent personalities in the country today to bring attention to the importance of proper and habitual handwashing. The nation’s leading soap together with the “Pambasang Bae” Alden Richards join forces to educate Filipinos on the importance of handwashing through the power of a song.
Alden himself sang the handwashing song and invites every Filipino to make it a habit to unfailingly wash their hands with Safeguard in these 5 “hugas non-negotiables” — before “mano”, after using the toilet, before eating, after playing and before bonding. And more importantly, to spread the love and not the germs this holiday season.
If you’ve ever wondered the kind of impact personal hygiene really makes on the spread of germs and general health of the public, consider these sobering statistics gathered from the first Philippines Handwashing Index, a breakthrough study recently commissioned by the nation’s leading soap brand, Safeguard.
It has been discovered that Filipinos touch more than 23 other people per day, summing up to more than 90 ‘touches’ a day on average. However, they wash our hands only 5 times a day! There are other shocking findings that show opportunities for improvement on handwashing habits particular on specific occasions:
After using the toilet:
• 7 out of 10 Filipinos CLAIM to wash their hands after using the toilet but—ONLY 2 out of 10 really do.
• A shocking 64% of Filipinas DO NOT wash their hands at all after using a mall toilet.
Before eating and cooking
• It was observed that 60% of females washed their hands with water ONLY before cooking.
• Before feeding the kids, 40% washed their hands with water ONLY.
Before and after bonding:
o 80% of Filipinos DO NOT wash their hands after shaking hands with another person
o 40% of Filipinos DO NOT wash their hands before touching young children
After playing or travelling
o 49% DO NOT wash their hands after using their mobile phones
o 50% DO NOT wash their hands after traveling on public transportation
safeguard informatic_100917-01
If these statistics seem particularly innocuous, keep in mind that one of the fastest ways to spread germs and diseases is by human contact and ingesting contaminated food. Clearly, Filipinos haven’t nurtured the habit of proper hand washing, and based on statistics, a great number do not care. There’s a great opportunity to educate citizens that washing hands with soap can effectively remove disease-causing germs and is the most basic way to prevent oneself from getting sick.
Did you know that 1.5 million children around the world die every year due to diarrhea? As shocking as it may seem, diarrhea is the second most common cause of death among kids. UNICEF has declared that pneumonia takes the lives 1.8 million children globally each year. Furthermore, in a study done by DOH locally, it has been found out that pneumonia is the number one cause of death among Filipino children of age 1-14 years. Believe it or not, the simple habit of proper handwashing with an anti-bacterial soap can be an effective way of reducing these incidents.
Bawat hugas, dapat Safeguard hugas

With the arrival of the ber months, these facts will become even more worrisome. The holidays mean more frequent gatherings with friends and family—and with it, the chances of you spreading germs to others increase.
“The results of the Philippine Handwashing Index indicate that Filipinos clearly haven’t nurtured the habit of proper handwashing. Which is why, Safeguard continues to take active steps to spread awareness on its relevance specifically through the Global Handwashing Day and through the new handwashing song with Alden Richards,” explains Jia Salindong- Du, Safeguard Philippines Brand Manager.
Ultimately, this is a call for every Filipino to do their part in promoting handwashing to keep everyone healthy and protected from germs throughout this season. Make it a habit to wash your hands with Safeguard in these 5 “hugas non-negotiables” — before “mano”, after using the toilet, before eating, after playing and before bonding.
Share the newest Safeguard handwashing song led by Alden to remind your friends and family about the significance of handwashing especially during the Christmas season:
