Simple SEO Tips for Business Owners

SEO Tips for Business Owners
In the recent years, the use of Search Engine Optimization or also known as SEO has been a trend in the world wide web most especially for the business owners. Though some may say that it is complicated, the truth is it is just a process of making sure that your page or site is visible at the top or the first result page of any search engine. By being successful in this, a lot of advantages are possible to happen such as increase of site visitors, traffic, and of course, increase sales.
For a couple of years now, I have been listening to our workshop speakers (I work as an events director at Manila Workshops) on SEO and I have seriously learned a lot. I will be sharing with you with bits of tips which you may use in making your business a flourishing one. These are tips that I have learned, and I have been using them for my blogging career, too! Here are the seven magic tips.

  1.    Benchmark

This means that you have to research so that you can get to identify what target keywords you are going to use. Remember that the key to a successful SEO is through the use of the perfect keywords. You may try to figure out this one by looking at your competitor’s way of making keywords by visiting their sites. This benchmarking phase would allow you to generate keywords ideas which you can eventually finalize later on.

  1.    Internal Checking

This means that you have to identify possible problems on your end. Try to figure out if all the pages on your site are working, are all aligned adequately to where they should be and are all working correctly. Remember that no one wants to visit a site with slow pages, scattered content, and disorganized materials. So, the key here is to make sure that all is perfect at your end.

  1.    Pilot testing

Well, the idea here is you are going to launch your site in a beta mode using the keywords that you first generated. Try to figure out once published if it is effective or not by going to different search engines and searching for the keywords that you made use. If they appear at first result page or even at the top results, then voila! It means that you used the correct keywords. But if it does not appear even on the third or fourth page, then you better go back to your site and change some things about the way you worked on your keywords.

  1.    Build Links

Make sure that your page is visible enough as much as possible on all platforms. Try to do postings on different promotional sites along with other online advertisements. Additionally, you may also opt for the various social media advertisement to reach a more significant number of audience.

  1.    List your Site to Directories

One way of getting your site known and visible is by making sure that you register it to different directories. If you will notice, the first page of Google would usually display the contact number, address, and website of a company or keyword on the result page. So, why not make the most out of these directories?

  1.    Product Description

If you are in a way exporting product from other sellers and selling them as your own, then I would highly recommend that you come up with your product description instead of copying the one provided by the seller. Why? If a user would search about your product online using the description that you copied, the result at the top would always be about the original seller instead of your site.

  1.    Product Reviews

Product reviews are compelling in encouraging site visitors to purchase an item from your site. This is a form of a persuasive appeal to the users to convince them that your products are the best and are useful in many ways.

Event Alert: How to Setup A Food Distribution Business

I remembered during the first years that hubby and I are living together, we were already planning of what business we would start up. My in-laws are very much into the entrepreneurship world. When I met their son they have a few stalls here at the Pasay Public Market. Some stalls sold fruits, others are shoes and slippers and anything in season starting from Valentines Day until the Christmas Season. 🙂
I am thankful to them for teaching me the basics in handling a business. They would give us a small capital to run our own stall during the peak seasons like All Souls Day, Christmas and New Year! It was quite a change a change in lifestyle so I say you have to hands-on 24/7. As a couple we have to take turns in manning the store and taking care of our daughter.
Running your own business is never easy there will be times that you lose some just because of different factors. With that we tend to lose hope and stop na lang before we even lose more. Now, after years of doing trial and error with different businesses, I came to a conclusion that here in our country one of the best business to put up is — FOOD!
Why? Because Pinoys are food lovers! We enjoy munching and eating atleast 4-5 times a day, breakfast, AM snack, lunch, PM snack and dinner. Pinoys are also in the look-out for new types of food, may it be Korean, Japanese or Mexican foods. In today’s generation, there are a lot of food parks emerging almost in every city in the Metro. An advantage for food biz owners to be known and be discovered because believe me or not Pinoys are “gaya-gaya” or just plain “food adventurers”. They tend to be curious to try out new food hubs when they saw their friends trying it out. 🙂
That is why GLOBE MyBusiness and Manila Workshops would like to give you the second installation to our Food Entrepreneurship Workshops – How to Setup a Food Distribution Business.

Event Alert: The Freelancer Fair 2017

I have been in the freelancing world for almost 2 years now. This is the kind of job that I wanted to be in at least for about 10 more years from now. Profit-wise I can say that for now, what I earn is just a little extra for my family. But I am looking forward to try to earn more like the other freelancers I know. 🙂 What I really love about this job is that I can get to stay at home and take care of my family but most of all is — FREEDOM.
 SPELLING OUT FREEDOM WITH FREELANCING
What comes to mind when you think of Freelancing? Do you see it as merely a sideline job or as what we Filipinos informally call ‘Raket’? By common definition, Freelancing is when you are self-employed, by offering your skills and services to clients or businesses, without necessarily being bounded to a single employer or a long-term contract. If you haven’t dipped your toes in Freelancing, then perhaps now is the time to consider.
Did you know that according to Upwork, a leading global online jobs platform, the Philippines is the third highest – earning country in the world when it comes to freelancing? In fact, more than 1.4 million Filipinos are registered in the platform alone!
With the sheer power of that number, it only attests to an overwhelming number of individuals who have found their fulfillment and achieved their #Lifegoals in Freelancing. This is not to ignore that like any other profession or job, Freelancing does have its own unique struggles, but if you’re the kind of person who wishes to feel and be more empowered in one or in all aspects of your life, then allow us to sum up what Freelancing can give you: F-R-E-E-D-O-M. And yes, we do intend to spell it out literally, by giving you our take of what that word means in the world of Freelancing. So if you’re an aspiring freelancer or entrepreneur, or avoiding a potential bout of “FOMO”, then read on!
1) F – lexibility and Autonomy
We live in the Digital Age, so it should come as no surprise the technologies that can allow us to work anytime and anywhere, and provide services to clients from anywhere in the globe! Say goodbye to long commutes and hello to telecommuting! Also, the nature of Freelancing can give you the flexibility and autonomy to work at your own pace and choose the clients and projects you want to work on.
2) R – ewarding Career
Who says that Freelancing can’t be a career or profession? For many who have gone this route, it has paved way for them to pursue their dream jobs without the constraints of a fixed job description or the frustration of being stuck in a mundane ‘9-5’ office job. As a self-employed professional, you are fully empowered to pursue projects that would nurture your skills and passions.
3) E – ndless possibilities
As a freelancer, there is no limit to the opportunities and possibilities you can pursue, now that you have full control of your career, profession and time. Whereas before, the most part of your day and energy would be spent in long energy-draining meetings and long commutes, Freelancing lets you color and fill each day with activities that you consider truly aligned in attaining your life goals.
4) E – nables you to design your own lifestyle
Are you a night owl who is most productive in the evenings? Dreamed of having your own 4-Hour Work Week? Or what about getting down to finally working on that business plan for your dream start-up? With Freelancing, you can get creative on how you design your typical week, that would specially cater to your unique personality, interests and quirks.
5) D – o things your way
Always had a need to be in full control of your work, surroundings and growth? Then Freelancing will definitely give you that! Being your own boss is one of the great perks of being a Freelancer, and that means getting things AND results done just the way you envisioned it.
6) O – wn your time
Ever wondered how it would be like to respond to emails in your swimwear, with your toes brushing the sand as it points towards a breathtaking view of the beach? Well, in the Freelancing Handbook, you are free to take a vacation in the middle of the week, just as long as you get the job done and your clients happy. Becoming a Freelancer means taking full control of your time and schedule.
7) M – ake room for the people and things that truly matter
And here’s the most important part. Freelancing enables you to spend more time with your family, and other things that truly make life meaningful. With Freelancing, it has paved way for the rise of thousands of hands-on mommies, who find fulfillment in being able to nurture both their families and careers. Whilst for many others, they found it in more time spent in pursuing volunteer work, or in endeavors which define their passions and values.
There you have it. That’s how you spell Freedom with Freelancing!
And if you’re itching to learn more about the boundless opportunities of being a Freelancer, then you’re in luck. This year, Manila Workshops, with the support of the Department of Information Communications and Technology (DICT), will be holding the 2nd Freelancer Fair on Sept. 2, 2017, to be held at the Bayanihan Center, Pioneer, Pasig City. It is the country’s first and largest event for Freelancers, which would gather together freelancers, business owners and brands for a whole day of talks tackling the Freelancing Landscape and the different opportunities in store for both existing and aspiring freelancers. The theme for this year’s full day event is Cultivating Relationships, as inspired by the mission to cultivate, nurture and help more people discover how Freelancing can help them achieve their professional and personal goals.
For more information about this year’s The Freelancer Fair, visit their Event Page. Get your ticket and see you at the Fair!
